Flat Feet

Flat feet in adults and children can often be symptom free, however in very active people, athletes or people who are regularly on their feet for long periods of time, flat feet or “excess pronation” can be a risk factor in developing a number of different types of foot and ankle pain, as well as knee, hip and back pain. Your podiatrist can perform a comprehensive biomechanical assessment to assess your feet and gait, to see if any intervention may be necessary. Detailed footwear advice and recommendations as well as orthotic therapy may be recommended to help control any excess pronation and assist in preventing pain and keep you moving.
